‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Spartacus’ alum cast as important Amanda Waller character

More scoop -Arrow” recently excited fans of the DC universe even more by announcing that Amanda Waller was going to be coming to the show soon, and we now have some more exciting news to go along with it: The actress playing the part.

TV Guide was the first to report that Cynthia Addai-Robinson of “Spartacus” fame has been booked for the recurring role, who has connections to both the organization A.R.G.U.S. as well as the Suicide Squad. We know for certain the the latter is going to be making a major appearance on the show this season, with the oh-so familiar Deadshot now serving as one of its key members.

The flood of DC characters coming to the show this season is somewhat a reflection of Stephen Amell’s recent comments that the organization has basically handed the show “the car keys” as of late when it comes to their catalogue. This of course allows them the opportunity to play around with more aspects of new and old characters, along with introducing a man that everyone is looking forward to seeing: The Flash, who will first appear this fall before going on to potentially having a separate spin-off show on The CW schedule next year.

While the show will be borrowing heavily from comic lore throughout the second season, don’t expect it to just follow the letter of the law. There will be changes to keep things exciting, and a good analogy here could be the difference between “The Walking Dead” on AMC and in the Robert Kirkman comics.
