‘Ink Master’ season 3 dives into production

Ink MasterWe’ve become rather obsessed with tattoo competitions, and just as we are now a little over a week into watching season of “Best Ink,” we have some good news coming in from what we consider to be the original and the best: Spike TV’s “Ink Master.”

We don’t have much in the way of details about the new season, but that is in many ways just how we want it given that there’s nothing worse than being spoiled on a show with such a specific outcome. All we can confirm is that, according to the show’s host Dave Navarro, production on the new season kicked off last week, and they are now more than an episode into the season. We have even seen a few people online talking about getting some ink done as human canvases on the show, which is probably rather exciting before you get there and start to realize what a high-stress environment this can be for the artists.

If you recall from the season 2 finale show, Tatu Baby was given an opportunity to come back for this season after being voted the fan favorite, and while we can’t say for 100% certain that she is a part of the cast, she has not been active on her Twitter page since late March. Take from that whatever you want.

There is no announced premiere date for the new season, but we’re guessing at some point during the late summer or the fall. You don’t want to air another season of “Ink Master” so close to each other that viewers start to tire of you, but at the same time you want to make sure that you are also not forgotten. It’s a pretty delicate balancing act at the end of the day.
