‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: Michael Weatherly’s two new (and Ziva-related?) photos
Just when you think that the talk of Cote de Pablo’s exit from “NCIS” season 11 is starting to die down a little bit, you then have some of the photos attached here that start to make you ponder the all-familiar questions yet again: How will Ziva leave the show, and will it be in a way that makes sense for the character? That’s a difficult challenge, since you also have to worry about pleasing fans who have been through the wringer with this character over the past few years.
The attached photos here were first posted by Michael Weatherly on Twitter, and shows his character of Tony “on his quest for Ziva.” He refers to the one above as “melancholy upscale,” whereas the one below is “roguishly unshaven.” Both are entertaining, and proof that Weatherly understands the scope of fan passion that is out there for this pair.
So far, everything that we have heard on the subject of Ziva’s exit is relatively positive, at least from the standpoint of her getting an ending that the fans should appreciate. For one, she’s not going to die, and that is always a nice pick-me-up for those shaking in their boots. (This also does leave it open that she could come back.) Also, she is getting a two-episode send-off that will not cause her entire departure to feel as though it is coming as much out of left field, with the most-important content coming within the second hour.
As for where Tony goes from here, don’t expect a Ziva 2.0 to rush in anytime in the near future. Executive producer Gary Glasberg has stressed that the goal is instead to use a variety of different actors in an effort to fill the void left by Cote, before eventually settling on the person that they feel is right for them in the end.

CBS didn’t put Tony & Cote together as each others destiny, the NCIS writers ‘suggested at ‘ they were putting them together. Its more in Tony’s mind than Ziva’s. Personally i don’t see “Tiva” at all. I see two people who think an awful lot of one another and have feelings or a sexual attraction. To me they are both way too different in personalities to be able to hold a long time relationship together. Tony is a child and a snoop and Ziva is a determined, strong willed trained assassin who has different ways and ideals to him. I hope they do have a really wonderful good bye kiss, but nothing more. Why in heavens name would a fictional romance continue off camera. Cote left not because of the money, but because she wanted only a 1 year contract, less screen time so she could take more time off for her own personal life and family. Family should always come first. NCIS is a crime show not a soap opera. And why do fans say they won’t watch anymore if she isn’t there? All the other actors have worked just as hard to make NCIS what it has become too with the roles that they play. NCIS isn’t about one character. To turn your back on them is really a big slap in the face. You are not a true fan if you walk away. Cote wouldn’t want you to do that. I feel she would be disappointed if you did.

Tiva fans– What I find interesting is that, if you’re looking at this and comparing it to what real life would produce out of these two…. Ziva’s character came in on a hot, fast train. That fire is one reason we love her, and source of the attraction they have painted with Tony. It’s a really a ring of fire that burns all over the place, as those of fire personalities usually are. She is here one minute and gone the next, running the adrenaline line. She’s never been the stable you-can-trust-me-to-be-here-in-the-morning character. Writers have from the get-go made her the fireworks of the show- burn bright; but they fade fast. Much like Jenny. If you think on it — she was never gonna be long-term. We all have had these whirl-wind relationships and when you put them in life or death situations, it intensifies. But, again if you make this what is realistic, she would leave. And if u really look back, we never really had her to begin with… she was always slipping through fingers. I’ve watched since the beginning, and always thought it Kate had stayed, her and Tony years down the line would be the right fit. She was kick-ass too, understood Tony’s line of work- unlike his girlfriend we all loved– Kate also had a nurturing side, that Tony needs, they had great chemistry, a slow burn like Josh/Donna west wing… that would have made for what the audience wants- happily ever after. But to dump the show bc her leaving makes no sense. Took me long time to warm up to Ziva, cause Kate was the original, I think they will figure out. Change is good.

There is no one who can fill the void left by Cote other than Cote. Cote is not replaceable. Ziva is not replaceable. CBS marketed Tony and Ziva as each others destiny. After being patient for 8 years, it is time for Tony and Ziva to be a canon, romantic couple. Even if the romance needs to continue off camera. The TIVA fans have earned this, Tony and Ziva have earned this, and Michael and Cote’s amazing abilities to bring this to life have earned this. Tony and Ziva need to prove that these two romantically dysfunctional people can make a relationship work. Perhaps have a child together. tony and Ziva will raise their children with the one thing neither of them ever had; unconditional love. Tony and Ziva are each others Shannon. The fans see this, I believe even Gibbs sees this, And Michael & Cote brought that relationship to life. Cote is not replaceable. I hope CBS comes to its senses and gives Cote the contract she has earned. A contract that is mutually agreeable to all concerned. Until Cote is back under contract I must say Shalom to NCIS.

OK, I’m a huge fan. I am encouraged that she won’t die. That said, I don’t care what they put in those episodes. Two episodes is NOT enough, NO writers could do that properly. She has become one of the cornerstones of the show. I do NOT blame the show runners or writers for this, and I know they are doing their best. CBS should be ashamed of themselves. They teased this relationship for 8 years, and SOLD it to the fans. They used this relationship to sell the show. We got cheated.
