‘White Collar’ season 5 spoilers: Another possible mystery for Matt Bomer’s Neal
Matt Bomer’s “White Collar” character of Neal Caffrey is more than just an excellent thief; he also does a great job at being a man of mystery, and on some occasions, the mysteries are even kept somewhat from himself.
This past season on the show, we got at opportunity to really dive in and catch a glimpse at what is an awkward, bizarre, but also entertaining family dynamic involving Neal and his father, but is this something that we have seen the last of? When we’re talking about Neal and his dad, we’re sure that there is more to come considering the role the man played in what happened to Tim DeKay’s Peter.
But what about the mystery of Neal’s mother? This is one rabbit hole that the writers, at least according to a message sent over to TVLine, have no interest in diving down at least for the immediate future:
“Having spent time with dear old Dad last season, Neal is done looking backward for now, and will be focused on moving forward in his life for Season 5. But the story of Neal’s mother is definitely a tale we hope to tell down the road.”
Now, there will of course definitely be a multitude of other stories to come in the new season. Peter has to try and prove his innocence (good luck), there will be some new individual cases to bring the show back to its roots, and we’re also going to to see Bridget Regan of “Beauty and the Beast” check in as a major recurring character, playing a prospective love interest for Mr. Caffrey. (Better watch out, Sara fans.)
The only thing Sara fans may have an even greater reason to cry about? That we’re not going to be seeing any more of “White Collar” on USA until the show returns in the fall. Luckily, we do at least have some more scoop on Peter here.

Always nice to get some news about WC. Why fall? Isn’t the show supposed to start about this time? Time to say good bye to Sara just as we had to say bye to Alex. I think those ladies served their purpose in showing that Neal does not want to go to the other side where Alex is, nor is he ready for someone like Sara. Some people make it like WC is a Neal-Sara romance story…no it’s not, she was just passing character in Neal’s journey. Plus, not to be mean, but I didn’t care for the actress much.

So well said. People making WC out to be like a Neal and Sara romance story, (the “shippers”), has made it so frustrating to discuss WC in this fandom.. WC was always about Neal and Peter and their unique partnership. I really look forward to moving on. With many more ladies, and new characters, and criminals and cops etc..

It gets so tiring to hear about Sara all the time in these WC articles. TIME to move past her character. Looking forward to Bridget Regan’s character and hopefully they won’t shoehorn Sara in WC anymore. She has been on for 3 seasons and enough is enough. In the last 2 eps that Sara showed up, it was out of the blue again and it always makes Neal get out of character. Hopefully we will get back to the Peter and Neal focus that the premise of the show is about.

I think You need to think about the Way Your Saying things about the Character Sara because to simply put it from me to You if there is No Sara then what was the point to make her a Character in the first place.

I think I have every right to comment the way I want to comment. The character of Sara was a hastily written and shoehorned in character and I dislike the horrible storyline that went with it. He was never arrested for art theft and they made it seem like she testified at his trial. Unbelievable. She hates him at first and then she is sleeping with him a couple of episodes later. Ridiculous. SHE TOOK THE FOCUS OFF OF PETER, especially in S3. The writers wasted time with her and got away from what the show was about. which is NEAL and PETER solving crimes and that is what I like watching. Side characters at a minimum. You have your opinion and I have mine. Sara had 20 or more episodes and it is time for her arc to end. This is my opinion and I can say what I like just like you can.
