‘True Blood’ season 6 spoilers: Robert Patrick comes over from ‘Last Resort’
If you liked seeing Alcide’s father at the end of “True Blood” season 5, you are going to be rather thrilled with the news coming out now: you’re going to be seeing quite a bit of the man moving forward.
According to a brand-new report coming in courtesy of Deadline, Robert Patrick is now set to be a series regular on the ten-episode sixth season of the hit HBO drama series. Patrick was originally only set to recur after he had signed on for the ABC submarine drama “Last Resort,” but the effective cancellation of this show by its network has led to him having an opening in his schedule. The show is not formally canned just yet, but “Last Resort” producers Sony Pictures TV let him out of his deal so that he could take the “True Blood” gig.
So what sort of substantial role is Alcide’s dad going to play here? That much is still relatively unclear, but hopefully we will get an opportunity to see his relationship with Joe Manganiello’s character develop a little bit more than it has already. Alcide does have a whole new set of responsibilities now that he is helping to oversee a whole back, which is surely far and away different from being the lone wolf that he was at this point a year ago. Who knows? Maybe Alcide’s new position of power will help to get his dear ol’ dad back up on his feet again.
Are you thrilled to hear this news, or do you think that “True Blood” is a better show when werewolves are a little less in the forefront? If you want to see what star of the HBO show is going to be jumping into the director’s chair for the premiere, all you have to do is head on over to the link here.
