Chicago PD season 6 episode 4 video: Voight gives Burgess some ‘advice’
In the sneak peek below, the focus is put on a former football player named Trent Stowe, someone who may be behind a string of drug-related robberies. Burgess may have seen the guy out on the field while in the midst of a ride-along, and over the course of this episode, she may have to go in front of a review board in order to defend her actions. This is where Voight comes in with a little bit of “advice” — whether or not this is good advice is up for debate, but he’s still offering it regardless.
One of the things that makes this case, and many others this season, so complicated is the status of Brennan (Anne Heche) in the midst of everything. She wants Voight focusing Intelligence’s efforts on cases that help her own political cause. That’s why there wasn’t any real prosecution at the end of the case last week; she doesn’t want to anger big, potential donors. If the case of Trent Stowe ends up being one that goes against her interests, how will Burgess handle it — and will Voight try to further influence her? This is an episode where there are some big decisions that could be had.
On a relationship level, we are curious to see what Burgess would think about Ruzek and Upton getting together, which we saw at the start and end of this past episode. Chicago PD is not a soap opera, and we don’t think her learning about the relationship would start some sort of cheesy love triangle. Yet, we cannot help but still be curious about what a potential reaction from her to this situation would be.
