Elementary season 6 episode 18 review: The Norman P. Horowitz mystery
At the center of the case tonight was a late man named Norman P. Horowitz, someone who had the amazing/shocking ability to seemingly predict the deaths of people before they happened. He was almost a human version of Minority Report, with the main difference here being that Horowitz is not actually able to do anything.
Yet, something strange was still happening here in that people who were subject of Horowitz’s predictions did end up dying, and that led to all sorts of questions regarding whether or not someone was killing the people at the center of his predictions leading to all sorts of paranoia as a result of it. Who would want to do this? Well, trying to figure out what was going on here was one of the reasons why this case was so challenging. It was hard for anyone to find leads for anyone — and, to make matters worse, Sherlock found himself a target after his own name came up in the process.
As the case was pieced together, it turns out that this was a family conspiracy and something that they were using in order to make a pretty penny. There was no way in which Norman was able to read into the future, and it was Sherlock who actually found the answers he was seeking through a quick vision of his own — one that came to him after seeing a photo of Norman’s brother. Basically, Sherlock figured out that some of Norman’s family were using an illegal drug to convince people to do horrible acts to themselves, making Norman’s prophecies true. From there, they attempted to try and flee the country.

CarterMatt Verdict
The most disappointing thing about tonight’s Elementary is that there was no real focus on Michael after last week’s revelation that he was alive. Yet, we also did think that there were a lot of interesting moments in this episode as we had an opportunity to see a most unusual case. The only real B-story that we got was Sherlock looking to give more of his wealth back to charity to make New York a better place — which led to a nice Sherlock

For those having trouble with sound, try watching with captions on. Much less frustrating! I think the casting call requested that only the soft-spoken need apply.
Terrific show!

Elementary is an intelligently written show with lots of plot twists. My husband and I look forward to watching the show every week. The chemistry between Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Joan Watson is amazing. The characters work so well together to solve homicides as well as cohabitating as friends. I use the Closed Caption to read what I cannot hear well or understand.

Also glad to know I am not the only one having problems hearing. As someone else stated, I tape the shows so I can rewind anything I don’t hear. One of the best shows. Hope it lasts many years. Along with NCIS, story lines are intriguing. Love trying to figure out the puzzle before the end of the show. Keep up the good work. Also like the dedications. I always go on line to see who the people are.

I too like this show even though like others my husband and I often have trouble hearing the dialogue. I was delighted though to HEAR at the end that Sherlock had donated money to the NYPD to set up a gun buyback program. As a volunteer with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. I have a particular interest in varous solutions to gun violence, and I was glad to hear this topic introduced on the show.

I too, love this show! One of the few these days that have complex plots, amazingly intriguing dialogue and a strong assemble of credible actors who interact so easily and flawlessly the viewer is easily drawn into their world. Clever twist on the original Holmes and Watson. Pray it is on for several more seasons! Just keeps getting better and better each year. So glad to hear I’m not the only one having trouble clearly hearing the dialogue. But like the others, I record and just rewind when necessary. Maybe I’ll put off buying that hearing aid for a couple more years now! :o)

I really enjoy this show. It requires constant attention to keep up with it but I don’t mind. I would love to see Sherlock and Watson get together and have a child together. The stories could still be edgy and they could continue to solve them together.

I’m relieved to hear that other viewers have problems with the dialog track on this otherwise great series. I thought it was just old age sneaking up on me. I solved the audio problem by watching with my headphones plugged in.

Sure wish they would improve the sound on the show. Love the show but the sound is extremely irritating and have to constantly adjust my sound on the tv to hear the dialogue. It’s not my sound bar or my tv since this is the only show this continues to happen.

Thank you for such a great episode , please keep on track with their relationship. I would love to see that they become more than partners, I always look for love to conquer all. Maybe she will get her wish and have that family with baby, and husband, hopefully it will be Sherlock, please let it happen. I truly love this program, and may it continue to excel in all episodes. Writers are doing a fantastic job. Cudos to all involved in the show. Love the stars, they are extremely talented and only get better with every episode.

Same here on the sound. Constantly adjusting, but I truly love this show no matter what and I have rewind, because I always tape my favorite shows. It does keep you on your toes and I love that, too. Hope we get many more seasons on this show.

This is an intelligent, fast paced mystery series that delights me each week. Hopefully, the writers remain apolitical.
Thank you so much for your style and high minded Sherlock.
