Hawaii five-0 season 9 episode 1 spoilers: Official details on ‘Cocoon’

There has certainly been a lot of scoop out there regarding Hawaii Five-0 season 9 episode 1 and for good reason. This episode is a celebration of the original Hawaii Five-0 pilot from fifty years ago entitled “Cocoon,” and it’s going to be an ambitious, action-packed story that pays homage to the original while also bringing something new to the table. After all, in the midst of all the nostalgia that comes with remaking this episode there is another important story that the writers have to address — the huge cliffhanger featuring Tani Rey from the end of this past season.

If the photo above (which could totally be nightmare fuel to some people out there) is any indication, this is an episode that is going all out to deliver the drama.

“Ka ʻōwili ʻōka’i” – After Steve’s CIA agent friend is killed, McGarrett lets himself be captured by the group he thinks is responsible and endures a torturous sensory deprivation tank to find the killer. Also, Tani wrestles with whether or not she will tell McGarrett about the murder weapon she found at Adam’s house, on the ninth season premiere of HAWAII FIVE-0, Friday, Sept. 28 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The episode, titled “Cocoon,” is a retelling of the original series’ pilot episode and was written by the late Leonard Freeman, creator of the original “Hawaii Five-O,” and current executive producer Peter M. Lenkov. Mark Dacascos returns as McGarrett’s nemesis, Wo Fat.

We’re obviously very curious as to how Wo Fat returns to the show given what happens to him — though granted, we’ve seen this show play around with flashbacks and dream sequences before. Beyond just seeing him again, there was one other thing about the premiere press release that makes us happy — Ian Anthony Dale being listed still as a regular. That suggests to us that at some point, there could be a chance to see Adam again even if it’s not right away. Dale has been balancing this show with Salvation like a pro!
