Hawaii Five-0 season 9 news: When Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan start filming
For starters, rest assured that nothing is awry when it comes to Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan. While the two were not at the traditional Hawaiian blessing this week that is often used to kick off the season, there’s a simple reason for it: Neither one of them was on the island at the time. That was confirmed in a post on Twitter via show executive producer Peter M. Lenkov. Everyone who was on the island attended the ceremony among the members of the cast.
Meanwhile, Lenkov also confirmed that O’Loughlin and Caan will start their work for the CBS show on Monday, and that the series is actually starting off this year with what will be the third episode to air. It’s not that unusual for shows to film out of order, especially at the start of the series. There are a lot of different reasons for that, whether it be for scheduling purposes or because that is when specific locations are available.
One more important thing to note is this: Eddie the Dog will be back! Lenkov confirms that he was at the blessing, which is wonderful given that he, alongside Meaghan Rath and Beulah Koale, was one of the wonderful new additions to season 8. Who doesn’t love dogs, especially those that can be involved in the process of solving crimes?
Hawaii Five-0 season 9 is going to air on CBS starting in late September — rest assured, there are some more updates that we’re going to be sharing in the weeks to come.
