Scandal season 7 star Bellamy Young lines up her next TV gig
Sources confirm that Young is going to be starring in ABC’s new pilot entitled False Profits, one that is being designed as a soap with comedic elements similar to another long-running ABC in Desperate Housewives. Her character is a single mom named Laura with two kids. She is one of many women in suburban Arizona in this series who fight their way to the top of a multi-level marketing cosmetics business — we’ve all heard about some of these over the years. Laura will look at this situation as an opportunity to get ahead, and maybe she will — or maybe it will all blow up in her face. Either way, this could fun.
One of the things in general that we’re going to be excited to see here is Young play a character who is basically on the complete other side of the financial spectrum. She’s currently the President of the United States on Scandal, someone who seemingly is not going to be hurting for money the remainder of her life. On this new show, however, she could be hurting for money almost every second of the day.
There is no guarantee that False Profits ends up getting picked up to the series but it does feel like now is the time in which ABC has to keep pushing forward with ideas. They have some holes in their schedule that need to be filled — Tuesdays are still a problem, Designated Survivor is struggling, and we do think that Sunday nights in general need some sort of overhaul.

We know that one other Scandal actor in Scott Foley is currently planning to stay at ABC with his new pilot Whiskey Cavalier, which is co-starring Lauren Cohan of The Walking Dead. Her future on the AMC series is still a little bit of a touchy subject, and that’s something we discuss a little further in the new video below.
