Scandal season 7 episode 12 return date for Kerry Washington, cast
Let’s start off with the sad news, which you may have heard at the tail end of tonight’s episode: There are no new episodes in the near future. As a matter of fact, there are no new episodes until we roll around to Thursday, March 1 when “Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself” comes on the air. What’s the reason for the long wait? It’s really quite simple: The Winter Olympics. They are taking up a lot of time on television and while ABC could in theory air against them, there is no real reason for them to do so. Why run that risk of losing viewers? We know that this is a show in its final season and in theory it doesn’t matter, but don’t you still want to keep as many viewers around as you can?
When Scandal does return, it will effectively kick off a fantastic run of episodes that is going to consider from March 1 until it ends later in April. The schedule makes it look as though there will be one more week of repeats in there, but otherwise you are looking at smooth sailing ad new installments the rest of the way.
Is it starting to settle in to some other people that Scandal is actually ending? We’re glad that the series is getting a proper conclusion, even if the thought of not having any more of it beyond this year is a little saddening. However, isn’t this better than the series doing anything to run itself into the ground? We wouldn’t want to see it creatively suffer on its way out the door; as great as Kerry Washington and the rest of the cast have been throughout, we will say already that there have been some creative bumps in the road. The characters were what got us through that and kept us excited about every other thing that was coming up.
