Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 10 spoilers: Danny flashes forward
Below, CarterMatt has for you some greater detail within the Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 10 synopsis:
“I ka wā ma mua, I ka wā ma hope.” – When Danny is shot while quarantined in the hospital with McGarrett, Tani and Junior, he’s left unconscious and clinging to life, imagining a future for everyone in Five-0, on HAWAII FIVE-0, Friday, Dec. 15 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
(“I ka wā ma mua, I ka wā ma hope” is Hawaiian for “The Future is in the Past”)
There is a tremendous amount to like about this episode just in an experimental sense alone. Think about things in this way: How many times do you get to look ahead to hypothetical futures on some of your favorite shows? It rarely ever happens, but it often teaches you so much more about a character than you would otherwise learn in other circumstances. One of the luxuries about Hawaii Five-0 getting 22-25 episodes a season is that it is allowed the opportunity to explore some of these avenues and play around more with these characters.
Judging from the photo above (the second one we’ve posted about this storyline) it’s a relief that, (at least in Danny’s mind) both he and Steve are still alive. We imagine that there are some fun surprises that we’ll get throughout as we learn more in terms of his ambitions for not just himself, but for everyone else around him.
If these endings are happy enough for some of these characters, maybe they will be how we choose to picture much of the Five-0 team years after the series finale. Hopefully a Hawaii Five-0 series finale is still years down the road, but the past couple of years have taught us to take stock in the episodes being released now. Things can change with TV at almost any time.
