Arrow season 6: Will the John Diggle – Green Arrow twist last?
What does this mean in terms of Diggle being the Green Arrow? Well, it’s going to be interesting seeing him in this role, especially given the fact that he is also a father and has some of those same problems on his mind that he will need to focus on. Both of these men have some distractions anytime that they “suit up” and head out into the read world to try and put an end to some of the crime going on in Star City.
No matter what you feel about this twist, signs seem to point towards it lasting for at least the next few episodes. This is what Juliana Harkavy (Dinah Drake) had to say on that subject to TVLine:
“It’s definitely something that we’re going to have to entertain at least for a little while, until we can figure something else out for Oliver … The team is going to have to try to adjust. They’re going to have to try to realign their positions on the team and refocus their strengths and just try to make it work.”
Personally we do think that there is a great deal of potential in this storyline when it comes to seeing the differences in fight style between Oliver and Diggle; not only that, but there could be some really fun stuff that comes out of seeing Diggle trying to get adapted to this costume and using the arrows as a primary weapon of combat.
Obviously, this isn’t going to last forever — but it could be a rather fun thing for the show to explore a little bit more between now and a little bit later this fall. If we had to make a projection, we would say that this storyline is probably going to come to a close before the big crossover episode airs a little bit later in the year.
