‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9 spoilers: Meet someone close to Cristin Milioti’s character

Cristin Milioti’s appearances on “How I Met Your Mother” so far this season have been few and far between. Despite the Mother appearing the first two episodes of the season, last Monday was really one of the first other chances that we had to see the character when Ted proposed to her in a flash-forward on top of the lighthouse.

But as you have been likely hoping, there will be some more good stuff coming up for the character soon … including a chance to see her actually appearing in a context away from Ted and her friends. We wrote a good while ago about a “How I Met Your Father” sort of episode where we would see a little more of what she has been up to while Ted and his gang of friends have been doing their thing in New York City, and E! News reports that the show is already casting someone to play her good friend in at least one episode this season. This is a character who could appear both in flashbacks and flash-forwards, which makes since given that if you inherit the Mother, you are going to also inherit her friends.

This episode, at least to us, sounds like there is a lot of potential for it to be a blast to watch. for one, it will just be exciting to see a greater slice of where the character comes from, and how she has lived with a life that is very different than Ted’s. As a musician, for example, we cannot imagine her having anywhere near the same amount of money the past few years. We’re also a little curious to find out about her taking his class, and how that will lead to that awkward moment of her recognizing him upon their meeting, and him not recognizing her.
