‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9 spoilers: First details on ‘True Blood’ star’s appearance

Get ready -Is Ted going to have one last date before he meets the Mother? It certainly sounds like it, and that raises an interesting question in relation to something that Mr. Mosby has said in the past: Isn’t he done with dating at this point? The assumption on “How I Met Your Mother” has long been that the next relationship he had would be in would be with the Mother and the only explanation that we can think of is that the woman that we are about to hear from here in Cassie is someone that Ted tries to date, but it falls apart before it really even gets going.

This episode will air on November 4 and carry with it the title of “The Lighthouse.” As for who will play the Cassie character, that honor goes to a woman in Anna Camp that, in between “The Mindy Project” and “True Blood,” has really been everywhere as of late. The press release calls her Ted’s “weekend date,” and the synopsis below gives a little tease at just what the two parties could really be up to:

“When Robin and Loretta’s conflict escalates, Barney is caught in the middle. Meanwhile, Marshall and Daphne deal with a stowaway on their road trip, and Ted and Cassie try to enjoy a trip to a lighthouse.”

Our biggest hope right now is simply that we end up seeing the Mother before we get around to this episode airing. If there is one thing that this show has drawn major criticism for this season so far, it is setting us up for all sorts of goodness from Cristin Milioti, and then hiding her for the past several episodes. The last time we saw her was the second part of the premiere, and it feels like forever ago.

What do you think about the idea of Ted having one final “date” before meeting the Mother, and do you imagine that there is much more to this story than what we are hearing right now?
