Why is this particular “NCIS” scene the Cote de Pablo – Michael Weatherly scene? The answer to that is simple: It is the one that fans have been crying out to see for over half a decade at this point. You can make the argument that the “Tiva” relationship was strung out far too long without any moments that many were hoping for, but at least a good many of them will be in Tuesday’s “Past, Present, Future.”
The bad news here is that this is a story where you already know that the ending is not going to be ideal, because it ends with Ziva not re-joining the “NCIS” team and Cote leaving the show. This was never the original plan, but it has been the plan since the summer, when the stunning news was unveiled that Cote’s time was over. The wait is now on to see what her next project will be, and if it will be another TV series or a feature film.
Based on past promos for this episode, there will be a kiss thrown in here at some point, and the story will conceivably end with a scene near a jet plane, almost straight out of “Casablanca” or many other fantastic movies from the past. Show boss Gary Glasberg is hoping to give this long-percolating love story its due, though there is going to be quite a challenge in giving this story any sort of service in 45 minutes of time (excluding commercials).
For now, let’s focus on the present. Share your thoughts / reactions to this sneak peek below! Meanwhile, click here if you do have an interest in seeing what is coming up down the road on “NCIS,” or at least for the episode following Cote’s exit airing next week.
