‘Burn Notice’ season 7, episode 2 review: 100th episode tells Michael, Fiona’s story
If you were hopeful about Michael and Fiona’s relationship leading into Thursday night’s 100th episode of “Burn Notice,” you may not be feeling exactly the same now that it’s over. For an episode that could have been celebratory about the couple, we’re left feeling instead rather somber, and as though there is only a tiny sliver of hope for the two to get back together.
Basically, every single one of Michael’s friends is furious at him over the way in which they’ve been treated, and he has utterly abandoned them without a word. Not only that, but there are people coming to Miami putting their lives in danger, and all because of him. Sharon Gless had some of the best scenes early in the episode, and that was later transferred over to Gabrielle Anwar and Bruce Campbell.
Michael had the face-to-face time that you were hoping for with all the characters, but we’re left now wondering whether or not there will be any more in the near future. With the target dead, what other hope is there for him to meet up with the crew again … especially after he disobeyed orders to do so this time? We know that Michael is being cold intentionally as a means to keep them safe, but it doesn’t make it any less painful to watch.
Speaking of pain, those final few minutes were a dagger in the heart, as Fiona walked away from Michael, giving him a kiss that we saw courtesy of a flashback to Ireland, that more or less meant goodbye. We are unwilling to accept that these two are completely over, but it’s going to take a lot more work than saving her life to win her back this time, especially since he was the only reason this week that she was in danger to begin with.
What did you think about this episode, and did it deliver for you in every way that you were hoping that it could? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below! If you do want to read some more of the latest “Burn Notice” news, all you have to do is visit the story over at the link here.

I cried after watching her walk away. They better end up together or this whole show was a farce… love like that doesn’t go through all they did to watch her end up with that loser Carlos!!!! This is the last season so at least end it the way the fans want… with them finally being together and done with the CIA!

I really want Fi to leave. That might bring some excitement to the show.
I think she is a terrible actor and she is messing up the show.

I have been along for this ride from the very beginning and I refuse to believe that it is going to end with Michael and Fiona broken up. I didn’t dedicate 7 years of my life because I like the spy stories, I stayed because Mike and Fi have one of the most engaging relationships on tv( next to Dinozzo and Ziva on NCIS) if this does not end with Mike and Fi sailing off into the sunset, I’m going to be hella pissed. Make it happen Burn Notice, make it happen. I’m about to rewatch the first 5 seasons on Netflix to erase the unhappiness of “Forget Me Not”

That episode left such a sad feeling inside me i really want them to end up together before this series ends lol, especially after she walked out ignored michael and kissed carlos. I just hope the writers give us what we want before it ends.

This is absolute BS! After all that time between Michael leaving Fi in Ireland she still came back for him. Does Matt really expect us to believe Fi would dump Michael after all they’ve been through for some loser “Carlos”? Give me a break! And give the audience a little more credit than this…Jeffrey Donovan commented the audience was going to be shocked tonight? Try FURIOUS. Not cool. He saves her life and she just walks by him without a thank you…SURE!! My heart is broken and I’m in the worst mood imaginable after a 7 year ride with ya’ll. Please turn this boat around@!!@ NO WAY FI GETS OVER MIKE IN 9 MONTHS! (and with some gross out bounty hunter) Pleeeeze. I’m going to bed in a really rotten mood. Next Thursday better turn this around. (Yes, JD did a great job directing this) Sigh ….
Going to sleep thinking about Michael shooting Strickler “Fiona’s not my Past!”

The fact that this show is able to stir up so much emotion only goes to prove how well written it is

He said he would get her out of the situation and then told her to “be brave little angel” which was code for get on the ground and wait until its over.

I love the episode. I loved every moment…especially when Michael was talking to Fiona on the phone and then the killing of the target. Jeffrey DonaVon is such an amazing director!!
