9-1-1 season 6 episode 12: How did Wendell die?
For a good while now within the world of this show, there have been serious question marks when it comes to the future of Bobby’s sponsor. We absolutely know that he is someone who had his fair share of demons, but what happened with the fire is something that has been somewhat shrouded in mystery.
Can Bobby get to the truth over the course of tonight’s all-important hour? That is the #1 thing that we wanted answers to coming into this episode … but there was no guarantee that we’d get them. Instead, we were more worried for Bobby than anything else given that the previews showed him being interrogated by the police. We know that this show loves nothing more than to make you think that something terrible is going to happen to its characters at just about every turn, but we were not critically concerned here. After all, we know who Bobby is, and we tend to think that all of the 118 would help him out if he was ever in a pickle.
Well, tonight’s episode did eventually give some answers on what happened with Wendell — we knew that he suffered an overdose, but let’s just say that the rehab center was anything but, and there were some people looking to cash in and cover up their tracks. The mistake that they made in trying to frame Bobby was that they actually made things too perfect with their cover-up, to the point where it was unrealistic.
Now, there is at least some justice for Wendell, and we’ll just have to see where things go moving forward.
