ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5: [Spoiler’s] kidnapping leads to rumors

Molly QuinnWhenever a character is in danger on a TV series, there is one thing that seems to always come with it: rumors that either the actor behind the part is considering an exit or a show is needing to make cuts. This was pretty clear during last year’s finale for “Grey’s Anatomy,” or the story leading up to Steve Carell’s exit on “The Office.”

Now, the latest actor to face the microscope is none other than Molly Quinn. The “Castle” star is going to be front and center in a kidnapping plot for the upcoming two-partner beginning on Monday, which has led to some pretty crazy rumors that she is planning to take off from the show despite having a pretty great gig (one where she gets to be a key part of the story without having to appear in every episode). We know that Quinn does have some other roles coming up, and is also getting into voice-acting as none other than Supergirl.

However, none of this means that Quinn is taking off from “Castle” in the slightest. Sources tell TVLine that there is no truth to any rumor that the woman behind Alexis Castle is considering an exit; and not only that, there has been no talk of anything of the sort. The only “evidence” that seems to be out there is the fact that her character gets kidnapped, and while this is a pretty serious show at times, it is not one dark enough to actually kill off the daughter of the leading man in such a dramatic fashion. While Rick will have his hardships, expect Alexis to get out of this okay (and perhaps with some help from Castle’s own father).

Do you wish sometimes that Molly had more story arcs revolving around her on “Castle”? If you want to watch the first promo for Monday’s show about the kidnapping, you can do so over at the link here.
