ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5, episode 15 preview: Alexis kidnapped

After an episode of “Castle” Monday night that was more or less sweet fun, and also one that featured a significant step forward in Castle’s relationship with Beckett courtesy of an empty drawer, you would hope that the series would stay in its happy place for a little while longer. Sadly, we know already that this is not quite happening.

As you may have heard already, kidnappings are going to be a major theme of the upcoming two-part episode beginning on Monday night, and for Castle this one is going to hit especially close to home as his own daughter Alexis is abducted. This is going to test him as a person (and test his relationship with Beckett) more so than just about anything else the show has done over the years, as one of his beloved family members is in danger and needs his help … and it’s not going to be an easy thing for him to give considering the circumstances.

We will eventually see Castle’s father (James Brolin) as a result of this case pushing forward, but it will not happen until the second part of the episode. As a matter of fact, we don’t even know how much of Alexis’ kidnapping is a part of the first part of the story, as there is something bad brewing here that goes beyond just one kidnapping of a famous author’s daughter. By the time this two-parter ends, the lives of all of the main characters are likely going to never be the same.
