ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 2, episode 12 review: Emily at a crossroads
Who knew a simple Los Angeles getaway could be so eventful? Emily Thorne decided to take a brief trip with Daniel Grayson during the City of Angels on “Revenge” Sunday night at his request, and the reaction to it was chaos dipped in a layer of soapy goodness.
For one, Emily’s emotions were starting to get completely caught up in a tailspin. Aiden was keeping secrets from her about the Initiative, whereas the more time that she was spending with her ex, the more that some of the feelings from her past started to come back again. As a matter of fact, the end of the episode featured Emily admitting to Daniel just how she was hired by Victoria to start to seduce him, which just so happens to be something that he suspected for the entire time.
After this entire charade with Daniel took place, Aiden clearly blamed Emily for what unfolded with his sister’s possible death … and you better believe that they are on the rocks now. They’ve grown distant for weeks thanks to their cover; but now, the real breakup may actually be on the horizon.
Emily was not the only one with a complicated romantic life, either, as Nolan also came to the realization this week that he hitched his horse to the wrong wagon. It wasn’t Marco who wanted his technology all along; but rather, his new CFO and “love.” We don’t know if Marco would ever accept his forgiveness now, but he sure better be ready to beg.
As for the only other revelation this week, it was a small one compared to what unfolded with Emily and Nolan: Charlotte opting to change her last name to Clarke, not fully understanding the implications of what she was doing. Just as though we wish there was more of an emotional punch throughout the entire episode, there was definitely one missing here.
