ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 2 spoilers: Madeleine Stowe talks return to form

RevengeIf you are a major fan of “Revenge,” there may be one emotion at the moment to best describe your current state of mind: frustration. There have been some good storylines and ideas introduced throughout season 2, but more often than not they were mixed with some bad ideas that either made the world of the Hamptons too complicated, or revolved around characters that we don’t really care about. All of this was reflected in the show’s ratings, which slid to a series low on Sunday for a new episode.

Thankfully, “Revenge” purists should celebrate the fact that there is a major reason to be hopeful on the horizon. Speaking in a new interview with E! News, Madeleine Stowe suggest that the show is done with spinning the characters around every which way, and we are going to see more of a return to the old “Revenge” story that so many people fell in love with back during season 1:

“The show’s resetting itself and they’re going back to what the origins were, which is a more personal thing … You’re not going to have this Initiative out here and this thing happening out here. They are going to concentrate on the central character. I’m once again being the targeted villain and doing horrible things to Emily, and Emily’s going to be doing horrible things to me. It’s on again, which is really, really good. It’s really going to be us trying to destroy each other.”

At the moment, what we are best seeing is an example of Emily trying to create a feeling of comfort between herself and Victoria, as she has went along with the plan thus far to help bring Daniel Grayson back into the family fold. However, at some point this plan is going to diverge, and you have to be excited at the prospect of what is going to happen at that point.

What do you want to see take place on “Revenge” for the rest of season 2? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can read some more on the show’s ratings woes over at the link here.
