Beecham House episode 5 spoilers: Is Margaret leaving Delhi?

Beecham House episode 5- Margaret

What’s going to happen on Beecham House episode 5 on Sunday night? That’s one key question to wonder, with the other being whether or not it’s a mistake to throw this show up against Poldark. We want to see John Beecham and company stick around! What the folks over at ITV are hoping for (presumably) is that they’ve built up enough of an audience that these viewers will stick around for Beecham House for the remainder of the season. There are only two episodes left; from the Poldark side of things, that show is in its final season so its ratings are a little bit more inconsequential.

For the rest of this article, let’s put our focus on Beecham House episode 5, given that the potential for chaos here is high. We just saw John reveal the truth to his family, to Margaret, and to Violet about August’s true family ties and why he chose to hide so much of his history from them. There was an important reason, as it turns out, and they have to now assess the aftermath.

Per the official Beecham House episode 5 synopsis below, though, John’s going to realize that the truth doesn’t set him free on every count — Margaret is still going to be leaving Delhi, which we know is the last thing that he wants (there are story spoilers ahead via ITV, so stop reading now if you want to remain in the dark):

John is shocked to discover that Margaret has left Delhi. Determined to go after her he is stopped in his tracks by Ram Lal who reveals the truth about Chanchal and Daniel’s relationship. Daniel has been summoned back to the Company and he is intent on leaving. An angry John tells him that Chanchal is pregnant.  He shirks the responsibility. The brothers come to blows in front of the entire household and the secret around the pregnancy is exposed.  Servants, Henrietta and Violet are shocked by the news.

But there is worse to come as Castillon bursts into Beecham House. He accuses John of theft and arrests him for stealing the Agra Diamond from the Royal Emperor’s household. John pleads his innocence but is thrown in jail by the Emperor for refusing to reveal his accomplice. Daniel’s suspicions about Samuel increase when he follows him through the Delhi docks and market to the Red Fort. Samuel is clearly up to no good. The shock of John’s arrest forces Chandrika to leave. Daniel now takes charge of the household and finally steps up to his responsibility of fighting for the return of his brother. In a race against time Ram Lal, John’s loyal servant, rushes to find Margaret and tell her the news. Can anyone save John from this false accusation or is he fated to spend the rest of his days in jail?

Is it possible that John Beecham serves out the remainder of the season behind bars? It now feels that way, and he may be even more paranoid now about August’s future since he cannot be there to protect him. This is going to be a trying time for John and the whole Beecham family, and you have to hope for some peaceful resolution before the season ends.
