Claws season 3 episode 1 video: The aftermath of the Virginia attack
First, Desna has to figure out whether or not Virginia’s going to survive this. Following that, the next order of business is going to be figuring out what happened. Who’s targeting her? (Remember, we don’t think that Virginia was the intended target here.) It’s possible that the shooter was a familiar face, but it’s also possible that it’s someone who is going to catch you by surprise. It could be someone linked to a familiar face. The possibilities here aren’t so much endless, but they are still plentiful.
We know that some of this stuff has to be rolling through Desna’s mind, given that she’s the sort of person who thinks three moves ahead. Yet, there’s only so much she can think straight amidst Virginia being at the hospital and trying to control Dean. These are elements of the sneak peek below.
Desna’s not a psychopath — she thinks and feels things in a way that’s very real. She recognizes pain and there’s going to be a lot of it here. She has to just let those feelings course through her and be in the moment — as hard as that may be.
Is there good news?
Virginia lives! We don’t think we’re spoiling too much given that the character’s present throughout trailers for the upcoming season. Unless the showrunners were so desperate to spoil her death that they intentionally filmed alternate footage of her as though she was alive, we gotta go ahead and assume what’s directly before us is true. There’s no reason to think otherwise. Virginia, therefore, can be out for blood just as much as Desna. This is your mystery at the center of season 3.
As for some other stuff, Claws is still gonna be Claws. There will be relationship drama and comedy and Uncle Daddy doing some crazy Uncle Daddy stuff. This show’s gotten to take two laps right now and it knows the tricks. It knows what viewers like and why they want to keep coming back for more. Claws is gonna be Claws. It’s weird but also wonderful, and a true unicorn in a summer full of petting-zoo animals.
