Claws season 3 episode 1 spoilers: Meet Mac and Melba

ClawsClaws season 3 episode 1 is going to be arriving on TNT June 9, but why wait to learn a little bit more about some of the key players?

With that in mind, let’s go ahead in this article and introduce you two Mac and Melba, two characters who are going to be integral to some of the story coming up as Desna and her salon pals/associates doing what they can in order to get ahead. For the first details about these characters in action, all you gotta do is check out the Claws season 3 episode 1 synopsis below:

In the wake of Virginia being shot, the crew must regroup to face their off-kiltered new adversaries, Mac (Michael Horse) and Melba Lovestone (Rebecca Creskoff), so they can run Bayside Rapture Casino like the bosses they are.

Now, let’s go ahead and pose the following question: Precisely who are these two characters beyond everything that we’ve said so far. Well, per the casting listing, Melba, via Deadline, is a “Sarasota native who was a child model for catalogs and print campaigns throughout the southeast. This transitioned into beauty pageants and, ultimately a meteorologist gig on the local news, until an on-air, obscenity-strewn meltdown cost Melba her career in journalism. A lengthy rehabilitation followed, during which she met Mac, who was battling a cocaine addiction. They married shortly thereafter. Today, Melba is the picture of a Sarasota mover and shaker.”

Mac, for the record, is Melba’s husband, someone described as “affable, always nattily dressed in bespoke suits, Mac Locklear is a dashing Native American male who is involved in the seedy/glamorous world of Florida gaming. At face value, Mac and Melba are respectable pillars of Sarasota business community with their profitable casino, Bayside Rapture, which is affiliated with the obscure, recently recognized Tuptee tribe of central Florida. He’s a man with many secrets.”

Basically, these are two people who are going to be doing what they can here in order to go to war with Desna as she dives further into the casino business. Claws may be fundamentally about the salon business, but to quote a certain Walter White, we are seeing these characters more and more inch their way towards being in the empire business. They are finding a way to get even more immersed in this crazy universe than ever before and we imagine that there’s a lot of drama that is going to be coming Desna’s way.

In the end, we do think that Desna’s got an addiction of sorts to this crazy by now. She’s been a part of all of the chaos for so long that, perhaps, she may not know another way now beyond just trying to sink further and further into the abyss.

As for Virginia being okay, odds are you probably assumed she would be given that she’s been featured in some of the other promotional stuff that’s out there for the season. The biggest question that we’re left to wonder at the moment is if we’re going to have an opportunity to see some rather unfortunate side effects for all of this chaos.
