Below (via Netflix’s official See What’s Next Twitter account) you can see a gift from the TV-streaming gods — a blown-up version of the show’s Tom Ellis-led season 4 teaser! This aired for everyone to see in the area, and we’re honestly surprised that a few people did not faint as a result. It’s certainly a way to take your marketing to the streets!
If you’re in Times Square, you have to be prepared for the majority of people wandering around to be like a dog chasing after a squirrel. It is CONSTANT sensory overload — seriously. There’s crazy stuff around you at just about every turn and you gotta do something big to catch viewers’ eyes. This does that, and the funny thing is that Netflix didn’t even have to create anything new for it. The goal here is to try to grab some people who aren’t already going to watch it. Let’s face it — everyone within the Lucifan universe appreciates the promos and the trailers, but we were all going to be eager to watch season 4 already the moment it drops.
We’re gearing up for it! Personally, we’ll probably be preparing a binge-watching kit that includes the likes of coffee, one of those Costco sized cheese puffs tubs, more coffee, iced coffee, some sort of actual food, and then another dose of coffee. Ads like this are a way to try and at least capture the attention of new viewers. If it gets even 100 new people to open up Netflix and start watching the first season, this is a big win!

Customary Netflix reminder!
We’re sounding this alarm now and we’re going to keep sounding it — the best way to get a season 5 of Lucifer is to watch early, finish the season (don’t stop midway through and wait for five months to finish), and get others to do the same. Netflix is clearly looking at big viewership numbers more than anything when they decide whether or not to renew shows — just this year already, they’ve axed two critically-acclaimed productions in One Day at a Time and Santa Clarita Diet. (We actually think that Lucifer Morningstar and Sheila would have a good rapport — can someone send the Devil and Decker out to Santa Clarita?) We don’t want to see Lucifer be one-and-done at Netflix; we don’t think the service wants that either, but they’re not going to renew it unless they see proof and payoff.
