You’ve been waiting for a while to check out NCIS season 16 episode 11; the good news is that the wait is almost over! In this preview, you can see Mark Harmon’s character face off against the Secretary of State Wynn Crawford (Mitch Pileggi) over an investigation that NCIS is involved in, one that could suggest the existence of dangerous weapons. This is not something that Crawford wants to see are hear about, mostly because of what he’s trying to do in order to further along some of his own initiatives. His goal here is to clearly push forward his own plans without problem and he recognizes that Gibbs is going to make it incredibly difficult for him to do that. This is why he’s locking up records and ensuring that Gibbs isn’t getting access to a lot of the stuff that he needs in order to properly do his job. He wants Gibbs to basically walk away from this.

Obviously, Secretary Crawford doesn’t have a lot of experience dealing with Gibbs because if he did, he would realize that this isn’t the sort of thing that works very well. Gibbs will fight back in this episode and by the end of it, it’s possible that Crawford could end up facing a walkout involving many members of NCIS. This is a tense relationship that may not be able to resolve itself in a single episode; basically, don’t be 100% shocked if this is the sort of crisis that takes some time to fully resolve … even if there is a temporary stalemate-of-sorts within this episode. We don’t necessarily think that Crawford is a terrible person, but he may be so far high up the food chain that he’s insensitive in some way to the plight of some of the smaller people along the way. That includes the victim that Gibbs is trying to just justice for; since Gibbs is at the forefront of every single case on the show, this is not something he forgets or ever takes for granted.
