Gotham stars David Mazouz, Sean Pertwee tribute each other after final scene

Gotham

Gotham is currently filming its final episode for Fox, and it feels fair say that this is a very emotional affair. For more evidence of that, all you have to do is check out the social-media feeds for David Mazouz and his co-star Sean Pertwee!

If you look below, you can see what the two actors have to say about each other on Instagram — and it’s almost sure to make you tear up. David toasts Sean for everything that he taught him as an actor and as a man — Alfred is basically Bruce Wayne’s father figure on Gotham, and in real life Sean served as a surrogate father of sorts on the set. He could help to mentor him on a number of different levels and be there for him through thick and thin. Everything that they have to say in these captions really speaks to how much the two genuinely do care about each other.

So as we start to look towards the future for these two men, whatever that may be, we certainly do think that they will continue to have a bond. While it’s true that they will no longer be working together in an official capacity, they do still have an opportunity to spend some time together in some other capacities. Just remember for a moment that they will do a lengthy convention circuit with one another moving forward, provided that this is something that they want to keep doing. Given that Gotham does have a very loyal audience, we have a hard time imagining that these actors are suddenly going to go out of demand at any point in the near future.

The final season of Gotham is going to premiere on Fox come January 3, and over the final twelve episodes you will see the continued evolution of Bruce into a man — Batman will even show up in the flash forwards at the end of the finale! On the other side of that, you are also going to have an opportunity at some point in here to see some dramatic material for Alfred. After all, the show’s version of Bane will be coming after him and replicating a key comic-book story that tends to involve Bane and Bruce.
