Outlander season 4: Caitriona Balfe celebrates Claire Fraser’s 100th birthday

Outlander

For those who love Outlanderthe Diana Gabaldon books, and of course Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser, today’s a big day. After all, it is the 100th birthday for the character! Based on where she is right now within the Starz series, let alone the books, it’s clear that she has basically lived multiple lives already. She’s experienced exceptional highs, devastating lows, and experienced things that only others can dream of. That’s what happens when you do possess the ability to move through multiple time periods!

In celebration of the big day, Caitriona Balfe is doing something absolutely exceptional — basically, another example of how much she cares about this character and also how much she cares about her supporters. She’s answering 100 questions on social media throughout the day. She’s already answered a good many, and there are really too many to keep track of here. We recommend that you follow her along on Twitter to check out some of her responses.

Nonetheless, we’re chronicling some of our favorites below, whether it be her talking about Sam Heughan’s dancing, one of her favorite things about Claire in season 4, and also what she’s proudest of when it comes to being a part of a show like this. One of our favorite answers she gives overall is to a question about what she would say to Claire if she ever met her. Balfe keeps this short but very-much meaningful: “Thank you.” This hits us right in the heart — it’s a recognition of the impact Claire has had on her life.

We anticipate that Balfe is still taking more questions at the time of this writing — this means that there’s some more good stuff coming later in the day! Cheers to Caitriona for doing this, and of course cheers to Diana for writing the story and to Outlander and the producers for bringing this story to screen. Season 4 premieres on Starz come November 4, and we’re certainly going to have more coverage along the way.
