Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 5 preview: The storm returns

David vs. Goliath

Moving into Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 5, one thing feels clear: Things are gonna get a little bit crazy. (To think, weren’t they already pretty crazy tonight?)

For starters, we’re still reeling from the blindside of what happened tonight. Alec flipped on the Goliath tribe and took out Natalia, someone who was ordering people around and controlling much of the game. With that, he decided to turn everything on his head. He now has the challenge of winning back over Kara and, beyond that, doing okay with Carl on his tribe now. We do think that he’s going to be okay in the short-term, mostly because of the fact that Davie and Carl aren’t too close with Elizabeth and they may bring in Alec. The only way he’s in trouble is if there’s a huge losing streak coming.

Also, we still don’t think that the purple tribe is sticking around for a long time without going to Tribal Council because that group feels pretty weak. If that happens, it’s certainly possible Natalie goes just because she irritates so many other people there. Yet, does Goliath want to pick off another number so soon after what happened to Natalia? This vote off changes a lot of stuff for their strategy.

More so than the game, though, the biggest threat to these players may just be the storm. It’s coming back in a big way next week, and it seemed more than ready to make the lives of multiple players out there a living hell. This can demoralize people and make them contemplate quitting … and we’ve already had one person voluntarily leave the game in Bi.
