Supergirl season 4 premiere video: Kara Danvers meets Nia Nal
The video below is actually the first scene featuring Nicole Maines as this character on the series, as she is spending a little bit of time with Kara Danvers in an elevator — while acting an awful lot like Kara from season 1 in the process. She’s acting nervous over coffee and really trying to do just about everything that she can in order to ensure that Kara is comfortable. The parallels here are certainly eerie.
For Nia, she is getting set to enter her first day in at least this particular department and clearly, she’s worried about it. Luckily, Kara is a different sort of boss than Cat Grant — she’s not anywhere near as demanding and while she may be firm at times, she’s not going to belittle her over anything. Granted, it may also not be fair to call Kara 100% her boss; the power structure at CatCo these days is a little bit difficult to figure out, other than that of course James Olsen seems to be the one running things at a more local level while Lena Luthor oversees just about everything due to it being her company.
Eventually, you will see Nia become the hero Dreamer, but we certainly are not getting any hints of that in this particular scene. That is something being set up for down the road; it’s definitely worth watching out for, but it may take a little bit of time before the story makes it to the point where she starts to show off that side. We do think it’ll happen this season, though, mostly because there’s very little reason for it not to since you never quite know if you are going to be back on the air again for another batch of episodes.
