Grey’s Anatomy season 15 boss on Owen – Teddy reunion

Grey’s Anatomy season 15 is going to have a number of interesting storylines, but they’re obviously selling the return of Teddy in a big way. How could they not, given the way that the fourteenth season ended? That story concluded with us learning for the first time that Teddy was pregnant, presumably with Owen’s baby after what happened on the show last season.

As you would imagine, that throws a wrench into everything. Owen has moved forward with his life with Amelia — while the two characters don’t have any specific definition to their relationship, they have created a strange-but-functional family unit for themselves. They’ve moved forward with their lives and this complicates things greatly.

What’s also complicated is simply this — Owen doesn’t know that Teddy is back in town as of yet. According to executive producer Krista Vernoff (via TVLine), the season 15 premiere is going to pick up fairly quickly after the events of season 14. Not only that, but “you’ll see the scene where they see each other for the first time since Germany in the premiere.”

Vernoff goes on to call the dynamic between Owen, Teddy, and Amelia “the most complicated love triangle I have ever written — [because] there are no villains.” That makes sense in that we like all three characters on some level, and knowing Teddy, she’s not going to be the sort of person who wants to force Owen to be with her because she’s pregnant. Instead, she may just want him to be aware of what’s happening and for them to define what’s going to come from here. We certainly know that she’s loved him for ages, but this isn’t a situation where she will be thinking exclusively about herself. Becoming a parent changes your thought process.

We don’t expect that this love-triangle situation will end up becoming some sort of teen soap opera — with that in mind, we have faith that there will be a resolution that makes sense.
