Crime Dynamic Duos: NCIS: Los Angeles (Deeks / Kensi) vs. Lucifer (Lucifer / Chloe)

Welcome to CarterMatt’s Crime Dynamic Duos 2018! This is the third year in which we’re doing this tournament, which is a way to honor some of the best crime-solvers in all of TV. This tournament runs throughout the month of August, and over the course of it we describe what makes certain pairs the perfect crime-fighting duo while also allowing you to share some of your thoughts on the competition! Each article is accompanied with a description and a poll; the winning duo will advance to the next round leading up to the winner being announced on September 1!

What are the rules of the tournament? Basically, all eligible shows have to still be in the midst of their run on TV as of August 1, and at least one character involved needs to be involved in solving crimes in some capacity. They can be a cop, a private investigator, a federal agent, a lawyer or a high-ranking officer. What matters is that they put plenty of bad people away.

Voting Rules – Vote however often you like! Voting for Round 3 is open until Monday, August 27 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time; round 4 will officially kick off on August 25, and at that point, we will have arrived to the final four pairs!

Today, we are here with the second showdown of the final four! We’ve got an epic showdown with Deeks and Kensi of NCIS: Los Angeles squaring off against none other than Lucifer and Chloe of Lucifer.

Deeks and Kensi, NCIS: Los Angeles (#1 seed) – These two are beloved for so many reasons, whether it be their sense of humor to their effectiveness on the job to the relationship at large. The idea of partners being romantically involved is hardly a new thing. Yet, it’s still ridiculously entertaining to see Densi together and it totally works for this particular show. They make each other better, and also have figured out a way to make both their professional careers and their personal lives work. They’ve had a pretty dominant path to the final four, but it’s clear now that they are facing off against their most imposing threat to date in Lucifer and Chloe.

Lucifer and Chloe, Lucifer (#1 seed) – Lucifer and the “Detective” (as he so affectionately calls her) certainly have feelings for each other — we’ve seen too much evidence of it to ever think otherwise. Yet, it feels fair to say that their relationship is complicated right now, to put it lightly. They’ve got issues to deal with when it comes to trust, and of course there’s the whole question as to whether or not Chloe is going to be able to handle the fact that Lucifer is actually the devil. Regardless of what happens on season 4, the results of this tournament prove that the love for Deckerstar is as strong as ever. Even if you don’t ‘ship them, there’s still a lot to celebrate from seeing the two together on-screen.
