Lucifer season 4: Tom Ellis, cast reunite for first table read!

Tom Ellis

Today is a wonderful day for all Lucifans out there — after all, Tom Ellis and the Lucifer cast have gotten back together for their first table read since being picked up at Netflix.

The image that CarterMatt has for you below comes via series executive producer Ildy Modrovich, and it shows many of the cast, crew, and writers all back together in order to read some of their first lines … while also of course preparing for whatever the future holds for all of their characters.

What makes this particular table read so exciting is the long road that it took to get here. It’s only been about two and a half months ago that Lucifer was a show without a home — it had decent ratings and a great following globally, but no guarantee that it would end up coming back on the air after it’s cancellation. That’s when Netflix came in and did something that they had not actually done in years: Saved a series that had previously aired on another network. For all of the talk about Netflix reviving shows, it honestly doesn’t happen all that often. It’s a testament to the fans and really, the next few months of production (filming will kick off soon) are a celebration of getting more of this show.

Lucifer season 4 is still far from air, because all ten episodes need to be filmed, edited, and put together before Netflix streams any of them, so you’re likely going to be waiting until early 2019. At that point the episodes should be done, but they are still at the mercy of when the streaming provider chooses to make them available. We do think that they will put a great deal of thought into making sure the release date is going to get the most bang for their buck.
