Shadowhunters actor Jack Yang takes part in SDCC pedicab campaign

Just in case you needed another reason to be excited about the Save Shadowhunters campaign at San Diego Comic-Con, we’ve got that for you today!

We’ve been writing over the course of the past several days about the #SaveShadowhunters pedicab, which has been designed as a way in which to spread some attention about the series and drive the campaign to get it a season 4. There have been many a fantastic photo taken, but some of the ones featuring Jack Yang have to be at the top of the list. The actor is playing the part of Asmodeus on the series, and on Saturday he brought himself (and his cane) to the Gaslamp District in order to take some photos on board the pedicab. You can see some of those below and they are, without question, awesome.

Yang’s appearance gives even more credibility to the campaign, which of course already had quite a bit of it thanks to some social-media acknowledgement from everyone from executive producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer to stars Katherine McNamara and Isaiah Mustafa. (Read more about their reactions over at the link here.) There are clearly many who have taken note of the campaign down at SDCC, which also includes promotional flyers and buttons.

It’s always hard to tell whether or not one particular campaign effort has a big impact, mostly because networks, streaming services, and studios are experts at keeping all talks and negotiations under wraps. They don’t want to generate false hope by releasing anything publicly. We know that the campaign is at the very least still alive, and with that, the fight continues! The fact that all of this is gone while Shadowhunters is filming its final season 3 episodes only makes it more emotionally-resonant and impactful. They’ll be at work for at least a few more weeks, and after that, we’ll be back to strictly waiting to see if a new network / streaming service grants the show the season 4 home it deserves.
