In today’s Save Shadowhunters update, we do have more fun stuff to discuss when it comes to the San Diego Comic-Con campaign!
One of the things that we’ve really gotten a sense of over the past two days is just how wonderfully grassroots the campaign at the convention is — while there are the branded pedicabs that we’ve written about already, there are also fliers and buttons that have been passed out. There’s been a real effort to try to raise awareness to the cause, which is one of the best things that you can really use SDCC for.
There could also be some other fun stuff happening on the ground with one Shadowhunters actor in Jack Yang, who is playing Asmodeus on the series. Jack is going to be down in San Diego today, so maybe there’s a chance to see him on board one of the pedicabs! It would certainly be a fun little way to get promotion for the remaining season 3 episodes + the campaign as a whole. (The bulk of the Shadowhunters cast is up in the Toronto area, where they are filming the two remaining episodes for the season.)
Fingers crossed that this is a photo op that happens — no matter what, the photos that we’ve seen of people down at the convention already are absolutely inspiring!
Meanwhile, Katherine McNamara has also posted her own message of support in regards to the SDCC campaign, which you can see below! Getting these messages from one of the series’ stars is a great form of encouragement to keep fighting — after all, it’s a reminder that the show means every bit as much to them as it does some of the viewers watching all over the world. This is a life-changing experience and, no matter if Shadowhunters ends up finding a new home (hopefully, it will), the work on this series will stick with them forever.
