Outlander – Emmy watch: The dates to keep in mind

Outlander

We know there are always many questions out there about Outlander in relation to the Emmys, and one of the main goals in this particular article is to allow there to be a greater sense of clarity on the subject.

For starters, remember that for this year, the third season of the Starz drama is eligible, as are a number of the performers who took part in it. There could be many performers who submit themselves across several categories, and of course beyond that many of the wizards who work behind the scenes will have an opportunity to get some recognition of their craft. Think in terms of the music, the costumes, the set design, and more. These categories are not always recognized on the main Emmy telecast but they very much are worthy of some love in their own right.

There are a number of different dates on the 2018 Emmy calendar, but admittedly not all of them matter to people outside of the member community. There are many different dates/deadlines for people who are dealing with such things as eligibility and we don’t want to concern ourselves too much with these. The focus of this article instead is to focus in on some of the most-important information in regards to the campaign and making sure there is plenty of attention out there for Outlander as a whole. These are the important dates to know.

June 11 – This is when nomination-round voting officially begins. What that means is that all Emmy voters are going to have a chance to comb through some of the various nominees across all categories and select who they like. All materials for nominees will have been submitted long before this point.

June 25 – Nomination-round voting officially concludes. This is a two-week window in which we imagine that the campaign will be more intense than at any other point in the year. Advertisements will probably pop up before then, though, and we imagine that for us, we’re probably going to kick off our Emmy Preview series and polls at the start of June. That is, after all, the tradition!

July 12 – The nominations are announced live! We’ll have information on how to watch closer to the date.

August 13 – Voting for the awards round begins. The time in between can be used for campaigning and for studios/nominees to submit their best material.

August 27 – The awards-round voting officially concludes. Like with the nomination round, it lasts for two weeks.

September 8 and September 9 – The Creative Arts Emmys and Governors Ball events take place. This is when many technical Emmy winners will be announced.

September 17 – The Emmys themselves will take place. Note that this year, the telecast is on NBC and is airing on a Monday (thanks to the NFL).
