Outlander notes: How to watch Sam Heughan special; new Sophie Skelton appearance

Outlander

Let’s begin this edition of Outlander notes with yet another piece of information regarding The Adventure Show, the BBC Two Scotland program that will be featuring Sam Heughan on an episode airing on May 16.

Yesterday, we confirmed that there will be ways in which viewers can see the show outside of Scotland — it will be available in some other venues around the UK such as BBC’s iPlayer.

As for other countries, show host Cameron McNeish confirmed that the special (entitled “Take a Hike”) will be available via a download link for a small fee. We don’t think many people out there will be altogether upset over paying — for starters, it supports one of the best programmers out there in the BBC. Beyond just that, many of these said viewers have already shown that they have no problem paying for Outlander. We’ll always take being able to pay for the episode over having to wait many months, something that we have had to do for a number of other BBC programs over the years.

For those who haven’t heard much about “Take a Hike,” McNeish and Heughan will showcase some of the beauty of Scotland while also giving us a chance to hear some of the actor’s insight on his love of nature.

New Sophie Skelton appearance

For those of you who are looking forward to attending The Highlanders 3 convention in Birmingham in August, we come bearing some tremendous news: There is going to be an opportunity to also see Skelton there! The actress behind Brianna is officially going to be attending via the tweet below. Outlander cast members have been very generous with their time in taking on conventions this summer, which is also one of their rare breaks from filming. If season 5 (once renewed) follows the same schedule as season 4, production will begin on that this October.
