Outlander season 4 update: How far along is filming?

Outlander season 4Just how many more episodes are there to go in Outlander season 4? While it may be a rough estimate, it appears as though the cast and crew is now entering the final three.

Yesterday, we posted in the morning that the Starz drama had finished off another filming block. Now, thanks to a post on Instagram from Anita Anderson, we can confirm that the show has now made it officially through ten episodes. That means that there are, give or take, three episodes still to go before filming is done. (It’s always possible that a scene or two from these episodes was already filmed out of order, but by and large we think that there are roughly three to go.)

The Outlander team certainly has their work cut out for them over the next six or seven weeks, trying to finish off this final string of episodes. It’s long, exhausting work, as evidenced by the fact that there were recently some night shoots that took place. There will likely be more to come alongside some other work on-location with countless extras.

Ultimately, though, it’s nice to know that filming is in the home stretch! It’s going to still be a busy next few months, though, for the entire cast and crew when you think about some of what is on the docket for them. While there may be a little bit of vacation time sprinkled in there somewhere, the cast is eventually going to be taking off in order to do a wide array of conventions in various parts of the world. Following that, Sam Heughan has press this summer for The Spy Who Dumped Me and, beyond that, there’s also a press tour that is coming up for Outlander season 4 in the late summer, provided of course the series premieres in September as we expect it to.
