Call the Midwife season 7 premiere preview (PBS): Lucille Anderson arrives

Call the Midwife season 7 premiere

Tonight, the Call the Midwife season 7 premiere is airing on PBS, but that’s not the only hour that you’re going to have a chance to check out! There are going to be two episodes of the PBS series airing back to back and with that, you’re going to see a number of timely, interesting stories — while also getting a chance to meet someone new for the first time in Lucille Anderson (played by Leonie Elliot). She is coming over to Poplar after spending time in the West Indies, and her appearance should end up helping to fill the void left by Barbara. She departed at the end of the Christmas Special in order to travel with Tom to Birmingham. From here, tonight’s episode will focus on some stories and drama for not only Lucille, but also some other familiar faces including Trixie and also Valerie Dyer. There are some interesting subjects that are going to be covered and you could be surprised as to how much some of these stories relate to the present day.

Below, we’ve got some more details all about what is coming up next.

Call the Midwife season 7 premiere details – “Lucille, two days late due to the snow and ill, is called from her sick bed to assist with a breech birth. A single mother plans to give up her baby for adoption, but Trixie is concerned that her blood type might cause problems for baby.”

(If you want to read our review, with spoilers, from the premiere event, you can do that over at the link here.)

Call the Midwife season 7 episode 2 details – “Lucille faces racism and prejudice when a new mother becomes ill. Sister Winifred is keen to have fathers be more involved in the care of their babies.”

Both of these episodes are outstanding reminders of what Call the Midwife does best — creating strong, character-driven British drama that keeps you thinking at just about every move.
