Are Alycia Debnam-Carey and Colman Domingo going to be a part of Fear the Walking Dead season 4? Just in case you’ve been worried about the fate of Alicia Clark and Victor Strand, maybe the story today will help you to breathe easier.
The image above comes courtesy of AMC and TV Guide, and it serves as your absolute proof that both of these characters are not only still alive, but they are also still doing what they can in order to kill some zombies. Apparently it’s plaid season judging from the two different shirts they are wearing, and everything from the ground to the gross-looking zombies suggests that we’re in for a heck of a messy season — and also one that looks stylistically very different than the ones that have aired before.
One of the best things about The Walking Dead franchise, and it’s something that the flagship show has gotten away from a little bit over time, is that they can be somewhat nomadic in their approach. There is something fascinating that comes from seeing characters jump and transition across different environments. After spending so much time at Broke Jaw Ranch in season 3, there could be something fascinating about seeing the characters move to more of a populated area in season 4 — The Walking Dead itself hasn’t done anything altogether urban in a while, so moving into that territory especially this season would be exciting.
In general, though, season 4 is going to feel very fresh and different. There are many new characters (read about some of the castings over here), and to go along with that there are also new showrunners behind the scenes in Ian B. Goldberg and Andrew Chambliss. Scott M. Gimple is in charge now of overseeing the entire Walking Dead franchise at AMC from the top. Our hope above all else is that Fear the Walking Dead builds on the momentum that it has. Season 3 was a great season, easily the show’s best and one of the strongest for the franchise in quite some time. With that in mind, there’s more pressure leading into season 4 than there really has been to date.
