Scandal season 7 nears series finale filming — be prepared
In a post on Twitter, series star Darby Stanchfield (who plays Abby) noted on Friday that they were beginning work on the penultimate episode of the entire series — one that is almost certainly going to pack in a serious amount of emotion. You can’t be surprised by this, given that this episode is a culmination of the entire story to date, and hopefully will prove itself to be every bit as emotional as the hype around it suggests that it will be.
If there’s one thing we are worried about, it is the fate of many of the series’ core characters. When you think about what some of these people have done, whether it be Olivia Pope, Huck, or Rowan in particular, there are plenty of reasons in which to think that not everyone will make it out of the entire series alive.
Luckily, answers will be coming up before too long — the final episodes of Scandal will air this spring, and the series will be shifting back to 10:00 p.m. Eastern near the end of the season as the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off Station 19 comes into play.

On a little bit of a happier note that doesn’t have you thinking as much about the tail end of the show, there’s also this: Friday was Bellamy Young’s birthday! The cast all congregated around her at the table read to give her all sorts of love. It’s yet another reminder that the Shondaland family is really just that — a group of people who love each other and love the opportunity to keep working together.
At this point, does everyone just stop work on the table read to eat cake? It certainly seems like she was presented one in the video below via Shonda Rhimes.
