Chicago Fire season 6: What to expect in first episode of 2018

The Chicago Fire season 6 winter premiere is coming your way on NBC Thursday night, and after a wait of almost two months we like to think that this episode is more than worthwhile viewing.

We’ll start here by saying this: It makes sense for you to be concerned about Ramon Dawson given the way that the fall finale ended. It was pretty clearly established that his life was on the line and that’s not a narrative that the series is going to be shying away from all that much when the winter premiere begins. Ramon will be addressed, Jon Seda is coming back as Antonio, and that’s all CarterMatt is willing to say on that matter.

As for a few other teasers to get excited about.

Brettonio is back – The beloved ‘ship from this past season will be returning in some capacity. The two will make an impression upon each other pretty quickly after they reunite and you’ll probably be reminded of why they are so good together in the first place.

The aftermath of Stella’s kiss – Remember when she planted one on Severide while drunk during the fall finale? That storyline is not one that is going away, though it may manifest itself in some different ways than you would expect.

Molly’s North – Otis is going to continue his efforts to make this additional branch of Molly’s happen, but you may ask yourself about his motives. Is he doing this in order to become more successful, or in order to impress Lily, the daughter of the former owner of Mac’s.

Chicago Med cameo – You’ll get to see at least a couple of familiar faces from the spin-off in this episode. That’s nice after Chicago Med was more or less shafted during the early part of this season, when Med wasn’t on the air yet and Chicago Fire had to be careful as to how much they wanted to give away.

If you loved the first half of Chicago Fire season 5 have no fear: You’re also probably going to love the next arc of episodes. The episodes are fun, dramatic when they need to be, and another reminder that this is one of the most consistently great series out there.
