Grey’s Anatomy season 14 flashback episode: Big Kevin McKdd story coming
According to a new report from TVLine, the show’s upcoming October 26 episode entitled “Danger Zone” is going to work in order to fill in the cracks on a pivotal time in some characters’ lives — specifically Owen’s. We’re heading back to right before Megan’s kidnapping in Iraq, and we’ll see more of what some of these characters’ lives were like at around this pivotal time. There is a lot of ground that will need to be covered within this timeframe for the story to make complete sense, but we’re excited that we are even getting this in the first place.
As it is, you can easily argue that there are some important details left out here and there. We don’t know the full history of Riggs and Owen and how close they once were, just as we also don’t know the full scope of what Megan’s relationship was like with both of the guys. (We’ve seen a brief flashback of her in the past, but that was back when Bridget Regan was playing the role. Her work on the fifth and possibly-final season of The Last Ship rendered her unable to take on the job this time around.)
What this episode does prove more than anything is that the producers of the show are going to get everything that they can out of having Abigail Spencer for however long she is a part of the series. You have to remember that she will be going over to Timeless at some point next month in order to focus on filming new episodes there, but until then she’ll continue to be a part of this world. The writers have already given themselves an out in that Megan duties as a mother back in Iraq, so presumably she will travel back over there once she is properly cared for and able to travel once more. (This is at least what we think is going to happen — crazier things have of course happened within this world.)
As for the state of things between Megan and Riggs right now, we know that they are not exactly doing all that well. After all, she most-recently proclaimed that she was going to be leaving him, thinking that he still had some unresolved feelings for Meredith Grey stemming from their recent time together.
