‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 18 video: Wells asks Joe for a ‘favor’

After a lengthy hiatus, “The Flash” finally returns on Tuesday night with an episode entitled “Versus Zoom” that certainly seems to have some serious stakes behind it. After all, this is going to be a great opportunity to learn a thing or two more regarding just how intent Barry continues to be on one thing and one thing only: Destroying Zoom, really regardless of who ends up getting in the way.

As the sneak peek below tells us, Harrison Wells is rather desperate to convince Barry out of re-opening a Breach that could allow him to square off against Zoom, now that he does that this is really Jay Garrick / Hunter Zolomon who is behind the mask. As a means to further ensure something happens, he advises Joe West to talk with his adopted son, knowing that he listens to him and trusts his guidance very much.

However, Joe replies with something that is both very smart and also very true: It is really hard to convince Barry to do something that he frankly doesn’t want to do. Therefore, we’re in a position here where Harry is better to just go along with the plan and help him, since the team working together is one of the only ways in which Zoom could properly be defeated. Anything less could lead to death for pretty much any speedster not wearing that black mask.
