‘Legends of Tomorrow’ episode 5 video: Show boss on Ray Palmer’s dilemma

There is another new episode of DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” coming to The CW on Thursday night, and based on some early suggestions, this is not going to be an easy one for Ray Palmer or Martin Stein.

In the video below, executive producer Phil Klemmer does a great job of laying out the situation. Stein has been captured by Valentina Vostok in hopes of using him to create a Soviet version of Firestorm, and in order to make sure that he goes through with the plan, Vandal Savage comes up with the bright idea of tormenting Ray and Mick Rory, the other two members of the team who are captured. Stein may realize that Vandal isn’t going to hurt him, but that doesn’t mean that he has other ways of getting him to help.

Are we somewhat curious still about what Savage’s endgame is here? Definitely, and that is something the show still does need to flesh out a little bit more. At the moment, there is a certain degree of ambiguity as to what this guy really wants to do other than be with Kendra, or what his view is on the world after being alive for so long. He’s a powerful villain for sure, but we think part of the reason for the Ra’s al Ghul comparisons right now from “Arrow” is that he’s still a little at arm’s length.

Overall, though, we are fairly high on “Legends” at the moment. Last week’s episode was the strongest one we’ve seen so far in terms of entertainment.
