‘Legends of Tomorrow’ episode 5 preview: Captain Cold leads a different kind of prison break

We feel like the writers of “Legends of Tomorrow” must have had somewhat of a blast thinking up the idea for next week’s new installment entitled “Fail-Safe.” After all, they have two actors in their cast in Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell who are known first and foremost thanks to “Prison Break,” and as a result of that they came up with a situation where Miller’s Leonard Snart would have to lead the charge to bust out some of his fellow team members from behind bars.

Tonight, we saw Martin Stein, Ray Palmer, and others be taken in by the Soviet agents after trying to stop a plan from Vandal Savage and in turn Valentina Vostok. The synopsis below ultimately makes the next steps all the more clear:

“After some of the Legends are captured and thrown into a Russian gulag during the height of the Cold War of 1986, Snart (Wentworth Miller) leads the team in an elaborate escape plan to free their comrades. However, Rip (Arthur Darvill) gives Sara (Caity Lotz) a secret side mission that could prove not only to be a liability, but fatal to the team.”

While we certainly enjoyed the first three episodes of this series, we do ultimately think that the bar has now been set for almost everything that is going to be coming up next. We anticipate a few surprises, some action sequences, and more than anything chances for some of these characters to show precisely what they are made of. As a matter of fact, we even welcome it for the sake of great entertainment.
