Is NBC’s ‘The Voice’ new tonight? Preparing for the live shows and more

VoiceLet us begin this article on “The Voice” with a sad bit of news for those of you out there who are eagerly awaiting something new coming up on NBC tonight: It’s not happening.

In theory, it’s possible that you could be getting some new footage. What the show is airing starting at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time is a recap of the road to the live shows, which means that you’ll probably see some performance snippets, plus a variety of funny coach moments that may have been glossed over or shelved at other points this season. The show is trying to be cognizant that three-plus hours of programming a weak is a large commitment, and this is a way to catch up quickly and prepare for the start of the Live Playoffs next week. Also, it wouldn’t make any sense for them to start that on a Tuesday, as it would throw off almost everything.

What was announced earlier that was somewhat of a twist is that this year, there will be a different sort of wildcard than what we have had a chance to experience in the past. Four artists who were previously eliminated will get a chance to compete and potentially enter the top 24. You can read more about that by heading over to the link here.

Ultimately, we are excited to see where the rest of the competition goes this season, though at the same time we’re also well-aware of the fact that there are fewer contestants seemingly than usual that are worth some sort of mass excitement at the moment. Hopefully someone blows us away when we go live.
