‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: Thea could have new love interest

Did you really think that Thea Queen was going to never date again after being with Roy Harper on “Arrow“? There was at least a part of us that was hoping to see her go a full season like Laurel without a new love interest, but that is not what we’re here to report right now.

Per TVLine, the series is casting the part of Alex, a good-looking and sharp political consultant who will definitely be able to help Thea move on from her ex, who is still in hiding and as far away from Starling City and all of this superhero drama as possible. In case you were wondering why there is such a political angle to this character, the easy answer we can offer up right now is that the show is bringing forward someone from Oliver and Moira Queen’s past (played by Jeri Ryan) who could be immersed in some way in the latest political jostling in the city.

We’re going to reserve some final judgment until we see the character, and also until we see just how Thea is operating when the show returns for season 4. Many months will have passed since the end of season 3, and Thea may be more in control of her own alter ego as she battles crime in the city. She’s not the same person she was during season 1 (far from it), and while she certainly wants to do good for the people of this city, she is also very guarded.

The new season begins on Wednesday, October 7, and we certainly would not be altogether shocked to discover that it was Thea who ended up helping to encourage Oliver to return to Starling after some time away with Felicity.
