‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ alum Jeri Ryan secures important role

Arrow -We recently reported that the second episode of “Arrow” season 4 was entitled “The Candidate,” and to go along with that now we may have the first news on just who this “candidate” will be.

According to a report from “Access Hollywood,” famed “Star Trek: Voyager” actress Jeri Ryan has signed up for the part of Jessica Danforth. She is a woman who has longtime ties to the Queen family, and was also at some point a close friend of Moira Queen, who unfortunately died during the second season of the show. She is going to have strong political ambitions, which furthers along the idea that she is tied to the title … especially since we do not know of any other people at the moment who it could be a reference to.

For the time being, though, much of the “Arrow” season 4 story is a firm mystery, and that is probably a little bit of what happens when you consider that when the show last left off with Oliver and Felicity off traveling, enjoying their time with one another for a change. This was a rare opportunity for them to relax, and who knows what sort of city they are going to be returning to when they do make it back?

Getting Ryan is a big coup for the show, and it does also further along the series’ reputation of bringing on great genre actors for parts. John Barrowman is of course known for “Torchwood,” Manu Bennett and Katrina Law had “Spartacus,” Colton Haynes was from “Teen Wolf,” and even Stephen Amell had a brief stint on “The Vampire Diaries.”

Dig this casting? (Yes, obviously Diggle reference for the heck of it.) Share below, and take a look here at some other recent “Arrow” casting news. Also, you can sign up to get some further TV scoop on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: The CW.)
